I want to edit some parts of the OS in the fx-CG50 (not AU) and wanted to know what is the smallest modifications I can make without bricking my calculator would something like changing 1 letter of text in the OS code enough to brick the calculator? I want to actually try this myself and know that fxos is the best way to do this but where do I start exactly I know that I must load in the OS as binary but then what do I need to do to edit a piece of text of OS safely and put it back in the calculator without bricking it or is there something else I need to use and what's the best OS to edit I thought it would be 3.60 because I believe this is the one there is most information available for I believe. I have also tried using Ghidra but it left me confused ,as I'm not the best with it, with lots of random characters that I had no clue what to do with when I auto analysed the OS 3.60 binary so if any one knows how to use Ghidra for this stuff any help on it would be appreciated.

Hi! Unfortunately, Planète Casio's policy does not allow this question to be discussed or researched on the site because if it was possible to modify the OS this could easily lead to exam mode hacks. This is one of a couple such topics that are banned on principle as a result. I don't want to go into politics but know that such a project, if possible/realized, would create problems for us, for other communities, and for our contacts at CASIO; the kind that has led to native programming being removed on other brands' models in the past.

While I understand how frustrating this can be, the only good answer is to stick to add-ins. We'll be more than happy to help with that.
