I took the ti-89ti out again today that was pressed under the case to try and install gb68k to play the gameboy games. I managed to run The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening successfully, despite the fact that I had to relearn the operation during that time due to not playing with the ti series calculator for a long time.
Even on a ti-89ti with such a powerful processor and a greyscale-enabled screen, the gameboy gameplay experience is still terrible.
You have to use the "+" and "-" keys to scroll the screen because the ti-89ti screen isn't as long as the gameboy. You have to put up with low frame rates and screen drag to move your character around, even though the ti-89ti's processor is so good.
So I'm thinking that maybe only a calculator like the ti-nspire cx can achieve a comfortable emulator playing experience. If you want to play an emulator on a calculator with a low-resolution screen and a low-performance processor, the playing experience won't be very comfortable, even if you manage to achieve it.
After all, barely playable and running smoothly are two different things.
